Leading Remote Teams in Times of Stress, Part 1: Intentional Leadership (Video)
In our experience working with teams over the last few months, we have found that the key strategies in effectively leading teams in times of stress comes down to these four areas: Intentional Leadership, Shared Awareness, Dynamic Alignment and Stronger Commitments.
Intentional Leadership involves awareness of how one is leading, and using that awareness to adapt your approach in a conscious way. Everyone has their own style of leadership. How do you increase awareness of what is going on, inside and outside the team? Does your leadership style foster trust and an open environment? With everything in flux, leaders need to shift the mix of their attention on the WHO, WHY and HOW, not just what needs to get done. Putting even a small amount of attention here has a huge multiplier effect on the WHAT.
